The funds were given to help waive fees for deserving kids who want to play Little League but can't afford to pay. Oviedo Little League serves about 300-400 families and players. This is the third consecutive year HKPS has donated to OLL.

HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) made a 2nd annual donation of $500 to the Center for Horsemanship And Personal Success (CHAPS) to help waive participation fees for underfunded local youth in need of equine therapy.

CHAPS, based in Sanford, FL, is a 501c(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to educating, empowering and enriching the community through therapeutic riding programs for youth."Therapeutic horseback riding is the use of horses and equine-assisted activities in order to achieve goals that enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral and educational skills for people who have disabilities," stated Lori Johnson, a PATH Certified Riding Instructor at CHAPS. HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) made a 3rd annual donation to Oviedo Babe Ruth Baseball & Softball (OBR) this past week. The $750 donation was made on behalf of HKPS board members and supporters.

What started as an idea over breakfast with friends at Johnny's Diner in Winter Park, has now helped hundreds of young, deserving local athletes get and stay in the game. This past week, HKPS made their third annual donation of $500 to Class Athlete to help waive registration fees for underfunded kids.The check was presented to Roy Bova, the founder and CEO of Class Athlete, Inc. by HKPS co founders, James Rudolph and Lance Ragland.

Bova founded the youth sports organization nearly eight years ago, to create an outlet in the Casselberry/Winter Springs/Oviedo community. Class Athlete facilitates over 1,000 student athletes in Soccer, flag football, and basketball. For more information on Class Athlete, go to (www.classathlete.com).

A few weeks ago, over 100 golfers descended upon Deer Run Country Club in Casselberry, FL for the 11th Annual Kevin E. Watson Memorial Golf Event. The event honors the memory of the man the tournament is named after.

Special thanks to all the participants, sponsors and volunteers at this years event. Nearly $5,000 was raised and donated to HKPS making the event our top fundraiser of the year. The proceeds from the event will help local kids play sports who might not otherwise be able to afford the league fees.

Kevin Masih, president of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) presented the Central Florida Gliders with a 2nd annual donation of $500. Founded in 1989 by Craig Wise (pictured on right), the Gliders are an Altamonte Springs nonprofit Track & Field/Cross Country Club serving young athletes in our area. The funds were given to help waive fees for deserving kids who want to participate in track or cross country, but are finding it difficult to pay.

The Gliders and Gliders' alumni have achieved success in local, state, national, and international competition and is open to boys and girls age 9 and older. HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) recently presented the Oviedo YMCA with a donation of $750. This past year, HKPS donations have helped 27 young underfunded athletes participate in a sport of their choice.

The funds were given to specifically help waive league fees for deserving kids who want to play in the Y sports programs but can't afford to pay. Kevin Masih, founder of HKPS and Lance Ragland, co-founder, presented the check to Charis Simmons (Vasallo), Membership Coordinator, and Karen Smith, Director.

The 2016 HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) Online Fundraising Blitz has begun. Donate today!

Since 2014, HKPS has raised funds that have helped hundreds of kids participate in various youth leagues and programs. Without these funds, they may not have been able to participate. HKPS hopes to raise over $20,000 in 2016 starting with the online fundraising blitz. "The donations we make to various youth sports leagues to help waive league fees for kids is made possible by donations from our supporters and various fundraisers," stated Kevin Masih, HKPS founder. "We thank each an everyone who supported us last year and hope to grow that support in 2016. It is our promise to continue our mission and help more and more deserving kids get and stay in the game."

It is with great pleasure to announce Kris & Mary Jo Tietig as our 2015 HelpKidsPlaySports.org Volunteer(s) of the Year.

In 2015, Kris and MaryJo were able to secure $2,000 in grants from the Duke Energy Foundation for HKPS. These funds helped about 30 underfunded kids participate in their sport of choice. Thank you Kris & Mary Jo and thank you Duke Energy for your sincere commitment to your community. Parents themselves of two children, Mary Jo is a former competitive swimmer and Kris is an accomplished golfer and tennis player, who also coaches youth football in his spare time.

As we begin 2016, we want to thank everyone who helped support HelpKidsPlaySports.org in 2015. Kevin Masih, founder of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS), proudly presented Chris Mullins, owner of WSBL Sunshine Youth Sports, with a donation of $500. The funds were given to help waive fees for deserving kids who want to play basketball but can't afford to pay. The WSBL serves about 800 families and players. Chris and his wife Courtney, run the Northeast Orlando league.

The WSBL – Sunshine Youth Basketball League offers organized league play for children in grades K – 12. The WSBL is in partnership with the City of Winter Springs Parks and Recreation Sports Program. In addition, the WSBL are partners with the Orlando Magic Jr. Magic program and Jr. NBA/WNBA. League play is offered during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
