HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) recently donated $500 to the Center for Horsemanship And Personal Success (CHAPS) to help waive participation fees for underfunded local youth in need of equine therapy. The check was presented by HKPS founder & president, Kevin Masih.

CHAPS, based in Sanford, FL, is a 501c(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to educating, empowering and enriching the community through therapeutic riding programs for youth."Therapeutic horseback riding is the use of horses and equine-assisted activities in order to achieve goals that enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral and educational skills for people who have disabilities," stated Lori Johnson, a PATH Certified Riding Instructor at CHAPS. This past week, HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) donated $600 to the South Orlando Youth Football Association (SOYFA) to help waive registration fees for underfunded kids.The check was presented to Jackie Candalaria, the SOYFA fundraising coordinator, by HKPS co-founder & treasurer, James Rudolph.

"Our goal is to maintain a youth program that benefits all participants, by teaching good sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, physical fitness, and self-discipline through football and cheerleading. This past week, HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) made their second annual donation of $500 to Class Athlete to help waive registration fees for underfunded kids.The check was presented to Roy Bova, the founder and CEO of Class Athlete, Inc. by HKPS co founders, James Rudolph and Lance Ragland.

Bova founded the youth sports organization nearly seven years ago, to create an outlet in the Casselberry/Winter Springs/Oviedo community. HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) made a 2nd annual donation to Oviedo Babe Ruth Baseball & Softball (OBR) this past week. The donation was made at a board meeting with OBR volunteers present. The $750 donation was made on behalf of HKPS board members and supporters. As with all HKPS donations, the funds are given to help waive fees for kids who are in need.

On behalf of Azalea Park Pop Warner, Taj Murphy accepted a $600 donation from HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS). Murphy, an attorney, is a volunteer football coach at Azalea Park Pop Warner and is passionate about finding talented underfunded athletes and helping them find the means to participate. This past week, community tennis lessons were provided courtesy of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) at the Orlando Tennis Centre exposing the lifetime sport to local kids in the community. Thomas Sweitzer, USPTA Master Pro and director at Orlando Tennis Centre, organizes the lessons for the community.

Last month, over 110 golfers descended upon Deer Run Country Club in Casselberry, FL for the 10th Annual Kevin E. Watson Memorial Golf Event. The event honors the memory of the man the tournament is named after.

Special thanks to all the participants, sponsors and volunteers at this years event. Over $3,700 was raised and donated to HKPS making the event our top fundraiser of the year. The proceeds from the event will help local kids play sports who might not otherwise be able to afford the league fees.

On June 4, James Rudolph, co-founder of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS), presented a donation of $500 to the local chapter of the Association of Christian Youth Sports (www.acys.org). The donation will be used to help waive participation fees for kids in need. Eddie Santos accepted the check on behalf of the ACYS.

The ACYS has nearly 3,500 children who play in their programs. Soccer, basketball, flag football and lacrosse are offered.

Kevin Masih, president of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) presented the Central Florida Gliders with a donation of $500. Founded in 1989 by Craig Wise (pictured third from right), the Gliders are an Altamonte Springs nonprofit Track & Field/Cross Country Club serving young athletes in our area. The funds were given to help waive fees for deserving kids who want to participate in track or cross country, but are finding it difficult to pay.

The Gliders and Gliders' alumni have achieved success in local, state, national, and international competition and is open to boys and girls age 9 and older. This past week, community tennis lessons were provided courtesy of HelpKidsPlaySports.org (HKPS) during the 2015 $10,000 Women's Open at the Orlando Tennis Centre. Thank you to Czech touring professional Petra (not pictured) and Coach Hill (far left in photo) for teaching and introducing these 3rd graders the sport of tennis.

After the lesson, they were able to watch some of the women's professional players in action.
